AN OVERVIEW OF THE 12 HOUSES IN ASTROLOGY

Your birth chart is a circle with 12 segments called ‘houses’.

Each house represents a different part of ‘YOU’ and your relationship to the world. From health to money, to relationships, and everything in between.

Consider the wheel of houses like a large round dinner table – with planets sitting in different seats around the table.

To know which seat each planet has at the table, you need to know your birth time and place.

This will tell you what sign was ‘rising’ over the horizon when you were born. That gives you a ‘rising sign’ also known as an ascendant.

This is your FIRST HOUSE and the rest of the houses (or seats) follow in an anti-clockwise direction.

When you look at your birth chart, you might notice you have several planets in some houses (or seats), while others are empty.

That’s OK — it all plays a role in what makes your personality and life path unique.

Importantly, the planet operates in a slightly different way depending on the house it’s in, the zodiac sign directing the house, and the planet that ‘rules’ (or owns) that house.

A tip for looking at the houses in your astrology chart

When it comes to your birth chart, pay particular attention to the 1st, 4th, 7th, and 10th houses.

These angular houses are the ones that usually have the biggest impact on your life and how you do business.
